Flight Information: Air Canada Flight #872 Departs January 26 at 5:30 pm Air Canada Flight #879 Returns February 1 at 4:20 pm. Tour Dates: January 26 – February 1, 2010.
Location: Switzerland, Uster-Zurich, 25 m Indoor Pool – Buchholz.
Cost: There will be a $200 per swimmer tour team fee. (Swim Ontario will invoice the home university/club.) All meals, transportation and accommodation for invited swimmers will be subsidized by Swim Ontario. There may be some small incidental costs (for example Swiss Chocolate) not covered by Swim Ontario.
Goal: This initiative further develops the partnership and relationship between Swim Ontario and Ontario swimming universities. It also provides a high performance international swimming opportunity for Swim Ontario swimmers who are committed to Canadian and Provincial programs.
Qualifying Period: March 15 to August 31, 2009.
Method of application: Coach to provide submissions; LC times only, no conversions, Performances from Sanctioned competitions only. Time trials results are not acceptable.
Submission deadline: Friday, October 9, 2009 – 12 Noon (EST).
8 Swimmer Selection - 4 Females & 4 Males: Eligibility Requirements - The top Four (4) Females and top Four (4) Males - FINA point scorers in an Olympic event* who are attending (September 2009) an OUA affiliated swimming program will be selected.
- Submissions must have minimum score of 780 FINA Points.
- *Note – the Olympic Distance Events for males and females (800 & 1500) are excluded in this competition and therefore performances in these events are ineligible for selection.
- Swimmers must achieve the 2010 International IMU Competition standards.
- Swimmers must reside and train in Ontario for the 2009-2010 swim season, be members of Swim Ontario, and students in good standing with their University.
- Ontario Carded and/or Quest For Gold recipients will be given priority consideration.
- Swimmers must compete in the 2010 Ontario Senior Championships.
- University Swimmers must be eligible for the 2010 OUA and CIS Championships.
- All Submissions must be sent to: Kelly Steeves by 12 Noon, Friday, October 9, 2009 (kelly@swimontario.com).
SUBMISSION GRIDS – are included in this document. Coaches must list the Event, the LC Time and the Current FINA Long Course Ratings for their swimmer. All swimmers submitted for consideration should be healthy and prepared to race at 100%. Coaches should not submit athletes if a swimmer cannot meet this 100% commitment and effort. (Eg. Injuries, academic obligations, etc.).
Swim Ontario reserves the right to adjust the team selection in order to meet the goals of the Tour.

(Swimmers who have signed a letter of intent to a non OUA affiliated swimming program are ineligible.) • The top Female (1) and top Male (1) FINA point scorers in an Olympic event* who in their first year (September 2007) at an OUA affiliated swimming program will be selected. • The top Female (1) and top Male (1) FINA point scorers in an Olympic event* who in their 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th year (September 2007) at an OUA affiliated swimming program will be selected. • *Note – the Olympic Distance Events for males and females (800 & 1500) are excluded in this competition and therefore performances in these events are ineligible for selection. • Swimmers must achieve the 2008 International IMU Competition standards. • Swimmers must reside and train in Ontario for the 2007-08 swim season, be members of Swim Ontario, and students in good standing with their University. • Ontario Carded and/or Quest For Gold – OAAP – Swimmers will be given priority consideration. • Swimmers must compete in the 2008 Ontario Senior Championships. • University Swimmers must be eligible for the 2008 OUA and CIS Championships. • Swimmers may attend this tour more than once, however not in back to back years. • All Submissions must be sent to: Kelly Steeves by 12 Noon, Friday, September 28, 2007 (kelly@swimontario.com). • SUBMISSION GRIDS – are included in this document. January 29: Return on Air Canada Flight 879 departing Zurich on January 29 at 910am arriving Toronto at 1230pm. It will also provide a high performance international swimming opportunity to Swim Ontario swimmers who are committed to our Canadian and Provincial domestic programs. Qualifying Criteria/Period: LC Times only, no conversions, from April 1, 2006 to December 4, 2006. Method of application: Club/University coach submission. Submission deadline: Wednesday, December 6, 2006. The top 1 male and top 1 female FINA point scorers in an Olympic event* who are in their 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th year (Sept 2006) of attendance at an OUA affiliated swimming program will be selected. (Swimmers who have previously been on the Team Ontario Switzerland tour are ineligible.
