The Swim Ontario Board of Directors is elected by the Swim Ontario membership; each of nine members serve three-year terms. For more information on the Board and its role/powers, please review the Swim Ontario By-Laws. This year, the organization is recruiting 3 individuals to fill 3-year term vacancies.
Submitting a nomination is easy. Candidates are asked to complete the required documentation and to submit it by September 1, 2023. The information will be posted on the Swim Ontario web site for consideration by electors. Alternatively, candidates may have their named placed in nomination at the AGM. Candidates wishing to do so must provide the required documentation no later than 2PM the day before the AGM: Saturday, September 23, 2023. The material will then be posted to the web site.
Although the nomination committee facilitates the election process and will endeavour to provide relevant information to electors, the decision as to who sits on the board is the sole prerogative of the electors – the clubs represented at the AGM.
In making those decisions the nominations committee is asking club representatives to consider some broad points:
