Both Swimming Canada and Swim Ontario believe that everyone in swimming, regardless of how they identify, has the right to feel safe and enjoy our sport at whatever level or position they participate.
Swim Ontario believes the psychological health and safety of athletes and coaches is vital to strong performances in the pool. While many participants may be comfortable seeking help for physical health issues, there may also be a stigma about seeking help for mental health issues that can prevent some people from getting the help they need.
Please visit our Mental Health Resource Hub HERE. Additionally, this is a link to the Mental Health page on the Swimming Canada website. In becoming more aware of the types of mental illnesses and common signs and symptoms, one can help identify problems and help connect people to appropriate supports.
Swim Ontario is committed to providing fun, healthy, inclusive and safe environments, free of abuse, harassment and bullying. Below are a number of resources to help clubs and organizations foster abuse, harassment and bully free environments.
