2025 Canada Games Coaches

The 2025 Canada Games in St. John’s, Newfoundland is a little over a year away and preparations are already underway. Canada Games is an exciting initiative of our developing athletes and it has been a key step along the performance pathway for a number of past Olympian, Paralympian and National Team Members.

Swim Ontario is pleased to announce that Olivier Renaud of Whitby Swimming will lead the coaching staff as Head Coach for the Games, and Cody Bradt of Golden Horseshoe Aquatic Club will be the Para Lead Coach. “We are excited to have Olivier leading the Team with his experience from the 2022 Canada Games and the 2023 Jr Worlds. Cody Bradt brings not only experience from the Paralympic performance perspective but that of effective team performance building." said Dean Boles, Swim Ontario CEO.

"I am looking forward to working with the next generation of world class swimmers and para swimmers leading into the 2025 Canada Games. The collaborative work with Cody, the other coaches and the managers will be my main priority to lead Team Ontario to successes in the pool. The work starts now for myself, but also for all the swimmers and coaches around the province who are looking to make a splash in the pool in 61 weeks in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Go, Ontario, Go!" added Olivier Renaud.

It's an incredible honour to be a part of this event and to have the chance to support the exceptional talents of our province's future Paralympic swimmers. As they follow in the footsteps of legendary national and international Paralympic swimmers, I am excited to guide them through their introduction to multi-games events, a crucial stepping stone in their promising careers,” said Cody Bradt.

Swim Ontario will be hosting performance camps and opportunities for swimmers who are on track for Canada Games nomination through the 2024-2025 season, with nomination and selection occurring in May 2025.

Selection criteria for the eligible swimmers and assistant coaches will be announced in the near future. Please check the Canada Games page on the Swim Ontario website for up to date information.
