Swimming Canada held a Pan Canadian Open Water & Distance Training Camp in Barbados from November 4

Swimming Canada held a Pan Canadian Open Water & Distance Training Camp in Barbados from November 4 -10 that saw a total of 22 swimmers and 5 coaches being lead by Mark Perry and Allan  Wrigley. 

Swim Ontario sent a contingent of 5 swimmers and 2 coaches.

All the swimmers competed on Nov 9 & 10 in the 8th Annual Barbados Open Water Festival.

All the swimmers competed in the 1.5 km with Kenna Smallegange finishing 2nd for the women overall and Madison Archer finishing 3rd for the women. For the men Ian Friesen finished 3rd overall with Quinn Matteiss finishing 6th and David Quirie 7th overall for the men.

On Sunday the 16 and overs competed in the 10 km race with Kenna Smallegnage finishing 2nd overall for the women and Madison Archer coming in 4th for the women. On the men's side David Archer finished with a solid 4th place in the 10km. The 15 and under competed in the 5 k race on the Sunday with Ian Friesen finishing with a first place finish and Quinn Matteis finishing 3rd.
