In Memoriam: Elaine Thompson

It is with great sadness that Swim Ontario share the news that long standing Coach Elaine Thompson passed away Saturday February 29 after a courageous and hard fought battle with cancer. Elaine has been a vital member of the Orillia Channel Cat Swim Club of the Huronia Region as a coach, parent and mentor. Elaine touched the lives of many of the swimmers and their families over the years. She was dedicated to the sport of swimming, and to the children who swam for her.

We send our condolences to Coach Meredith Thompson-Edwards, her husband Joe, children Josie and Hughie and Meredith’s siblings and their families. We know Elaine will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
