In Memoriam: John Munro

Swim Ontario is saddened to pass along the news that John Munro, longtime staple of the Kingston Y Penguins swimming family, passed away on December 12, 2020.

Husband of KYPS head coach and Ontario Aquatic Hall of Fame member Vicki Keith, John was often seen on deck at competitions as support staff for para swimmers on the team and has been tirelessly working behind the scenes as well, including a 58KM crossing of Lake Ontario to help raise money for the club, raising over $72000.

John was a retired police officer, volunteer firefighter, and relentless volunteer who devoted himself to giving back to the community. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
