Swim Ontario Welcomes New Staff

Swim Ontario is pleased to announce two new members to the staff - Ali Furkan Gur and Quinn Matteis.

In January 2024, Ali started a joint internship with Swim Ontario and the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario as part of his program at Durham College. As of May 1, he has joined Swim Ontario full time in the role of Events and Promotions Coordinator, assisting with the development and enhancements of competitions, events and other special projects.

“I'm thrilled to join Swim Ontario full-time and contribute to the growth and success of our sport. As a former swimmer and triathlete for the Turkish national team, and a former swimming coach with 15 years of experience, I bring a deep understanding and passion for the sport. I look forward to bringing my diverse experiences to the team.”

Additionally, Ali is also a new first time father to Dora as of May 20!

Quinn Matteis joins Swim Ontario as our 2024 summer student. He will be assisting with the Swim Ontario Open Water Swimming Championships, Golf Tournament, and other exciting projects.

“I am so excited to be able to get the opportunity to work the Swim Ontario Staff over the summer months. After spending so many years on the athlete side of the sport it’s interesting to be able to see all the behind the scenes of what it takes to run the swim meets and other activities.”

Swim Ontario prides itself on its hardworking and dedicated staff, and is very pleased with these additions to the team.
