Swim Ontario is pleased to present a roundtable discussion with Toronto Titans Head Coach Byron MacDonald and General Manager Robert Kent to discuss the first full season of the Canada’s first International Swimming League team, the Toronto Titans.
This roundtable will focus on the building of the Titans organization, life inside the bubble and what is next for the Toronto Titans and professional swimming in Canada.

BYRON MACDONALD
HEAD COACH
One of Canada’s legendary swim coaches, Byron has been the head coach of the University of Toronto for decades. He has coached the U of T swim teams to 24 U SPORTS National Championships (15 women’s/9 men’s). He has also coached U of T to 60 Conference (OUA) titles (32 men’s/28 women’s). MacDonald has also coached 2 swimmers to Olympic medals including Toronto Titan team captain Kylie Masse. A former Olympic swimmer himself, MacDonald represented Canada at the 1972 Munich Olympics.
ROBERT KENT
GENERAL MANAGER
Rob has a breadth of swimming and financial experience that spans decades. A former Canadian Olympic Trials qualifier in the pool, Kent is also an accomplished open water and marathon swimmer. He has swam across Lake Ontario, completed the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim and attempted a crossing of the English Channel. Outside of the water Rob also has over 25 years experience in investment banking and finance and is also the CEO of the Global Swim Series, the world’s largest mass-participation open water swim series.
