Swim Ontario is pleased to announce the coaches that will be joining Team Ontario and Major Technical Officials from Ontario for the 2022 Canada Summer Games held in Niagara this August.
Team Ontario Coaching Staff
Head Coach - Cathy Pardy
Assistant Coach - Endi Babi
- Endi began his coaching career with the South Florida Aquatic Club and continued to coach at the Markham Aquatic Club, the Etobicoke Swim Club, and is currently the head coach of the Barrie Trojan Swim Club. Having competed and represented Ontario at the 2005 Canada Games in Regina, Endi is thrilled to be on Team Ontario again!
Assistant Coach - Olivier Renaud
- Olivier moved to Ontario in 2016 to become head coach of Whitby Swimming after coaching for 8 years in Quebec. He has been the Central Region Coaches rep for Swim Ontario since 2018, sitting on the Swim Ontario coaches committee. Olivier has been also nominated to the Swimming Canada Select Coaches Group for the last two seasons and has a passion for Open Water, coaching at World Cups and BestFest with Team Canada in 2018. This is his first time coaching at Canada Games and is looking forward to being part of it!
Lead Para Coach - Chris Ellul
- The 2021-22 season marks Chris Ellul’s 17th season coaching competitive swimming, and his 4th as Head Coach of Scarborough Swim Club. Chris’ swimming philosophy revolves around the process. It’s important to have goals, as well as understanding the necessary steps and effort that each goal deserves. Chris has conducted and participated in multiple regional and provincial camps, and was named to Swimming Canada’s 2022 Select Coaches Group, receiving funding for continued development as a high-performance coach within Canada. The 2022 Canada Summer Games bring with it a new opportunity and Chris is very much looking forward to this role, bringing his knowledge, enthusiasm and energy to the team, and working with our roster of extremely talented swimmers and staff.
Special Olympics Coach - Sarah McNeil
- Sarah McNeil has been a swim coach with Special Olympics Ontario for over 20 years. She began coaching with the North Toronto Penguins Swim Club in 2001 and has been the head coach of the club since 2005. Sarah is dedicated to providing individuals with an intellectual disability the opportunity to participate and compete in sport. She has coached athletes from the beginner level to the provincial and national level at Special Olympics events. Sarah is excited to be part of the 2022 Canada Summer Games; it is truly a unique opportunity for Special Olympics athletes.
