WINTER STORM UPDATE

As a precaution and to allow everyone involved in this event to travel into Toronto, Swim Ontario in consultation with the facility and Whitby Swimming (host), will implement the following changes which will take place for tomorrow, Saturday, March 4.

The morning session will begin 1 hour later then published

• 7:30 AM - Deck Access
• 8:00 AM - Warm-up Start
• 9:30 AM - Session Start
• 1:00 PM - Approx Session End

The evening finals session will begin 30 minutes later then published

• 4:00 PM - Deck Access
• 4:30 PM - Warm-up Start
• 5:30 PM - Session Start
• 7:45 PM - Approx Session End

If any news regarding the morning session changes (i.e. facility closure), you will be emailed immediately.

• Due to the Cyber-Attack on the registration system, the small Team Awards at our Winter Series events will not be awarded. A modified Small Team award will awarded/announced at the Summer series meets.

Eligibility

• This event is restricted to Ontario based athletes (registered with Swimming Canada) with the exception of para swimmers who may be from across Canada
  • An exemption is granted to CAMO, from the Swim Ontario CEO, to attend this particular event with restrictions. CAMO will not be eligible to score team points or individual points towards high point winners.
• Finals will be open to all eligible swimmers
  • A maximum of 2 CAMO swimmers may be eligible for the finals
• Out-of-country foreign teams are not permitted to attend.
• A competitor’s age is their age as of March 2, 2023
• Qualifying Period: September 1, 2021 – February 19, 2023
• Qualifying Standards: 2023 Ontario Swimming Championships Standards – pdf view
• All swimmers must achieve at least 1 (one) 2023 Ontario Swimming Championships Standard

Para swimmers

• Para-swimmers must have a current Level 2 classification with Swimming Canada
• There will be separate para-swimming events with WPS sanction.
