Feb 3 update

As clubs prepare to do entries for OYJ (due Monday Feb 5) a reminder that

• 16&U swimmers with 2+ OSC times in either SCM or LCM (age as of Feb 29) are NOT permitted to attend OYJ. They are over qualified or de-qualified.
  • 16&U swimmers with 1 OSC time only are eligible to attend OYJ. If they choose to swim the event in which they have the OSC time, they need to be marked EXH and are not eligble to advance to finals.
• 17-18 swimmers with 1 OSC time in either SCM or LCM (age as of Feb 29) are not permitted to attend OYJ. They are over qualified or de-qualified.

Eligibility

All swimmers must be registered with a Swim Ontario affiliated club. Out-of-province swimmers are not eligible to attend.

• A competitor’s age is their age as of February 15, 2024
• The following swimmers are ineligible to attend OYJ:
  • Swimmers 16&Under as of February 29, 2024 with 2 or more OSC Qualifying Times (age as of Feb 29) in either SCM or LCM
  • Swimmers 17-18 as of February 29, 2024 with 1 or more OSC Qualifying Time (age as of Feb 29) in either SCM or LCM
• A competitor is permitted to attend either the 2024 Ontario Winter Festival Championship or the 2024 Ontario Winter Youth-Junior Championship but not both.
• Relay-only swimmers are permitted, however a swimmer at either the 2024 Ontario Winter Festival Championship or the 2024 Ontario Winter Youth-Junior Championship cannot be a relay-only swimmer at the other event. As an example, a qualified Festivals swimmers attending this meet cannot be a relay-only swimmer at OYJ as well. As well, a relay only swimmer cannot participate in both Festivals and OYJ s as a relay-only swimmer.
• Qualifying Period: September 1, 2022 – February 4, 2024

• All eligible swimmers must achieve at least 1 (one) 2024 Ontario Youth-Junior Championships Standard

Para swimmers

• Para designated swimmers may attend the Ontario Youth-Junior (OYJ) Champs provided they have 1 OYJ qualifying standards.
