Congratulations to all our Masters Swim Clubs and their swimmers. 2024 has proven to be a very successful season for Masters Swimming, with a growing number of participants, increased interest, and participation in Masters meets, including provincial and national competitions, and internationally, with a group bound for Doha, Qatar, for the World Aquatics Masters Championships earlier this year. Shout out for the increased interest and participation in Open Water swimming in Gravenhurst.

Thank you to the clubs who hosted meets this season: EOMAC, Whitby Swimming, Burlington Masters SC, Georgian Bay Squalls Masters Club, Clarington Masters SC, Thornhill Masters AC, and Muskoka AC.

Masters Award Categories:

Swim Ontario Masters Swimming Long-term Contribution Award

This award recognizes the individual or persons who demonstrate exceptional dedication to the improvement of our sport in Ontario. This award is based on merits either in the pool or outside and can include but are not limited to officiating, organization of an event/club, etc.

Swim Ontario Masters Swimming Excellence in Coaching Award

This award recognizes the Masters Swimming coach who has impacted either their club or the Masters swimming community in Ontario the greatest within a season. The recipient is a registered coach within the province of Ontario that demonstrates dedication to the club's excellence or helping an athlete achieve excellence, etc.

Nominations

Swim Ontario Masters clubs are to submit their nominees for the Long-term Contribution Award and Excellence in Coaching Award to the Swim Ontario Masters Committee chair, Jack So, by 5:00 pm Thursday, August 29, 2024.

Please provide the nominee's name, Date of Birth, Club, Awards Category, and a brief description to support their nomination for the awards category.

The SWON Masters Swimming Performance Award will be decided by Swim Ontario.
