RATIONALE

To provide a senior level racing opportunity outside of Canada to provide international exposure for swimmers along the podium development pathway.

LOCATION - Luxembourg

SWIMMER TRAINING FEE - $1250.00

TEAM COMPLIMENT

  • Up to 20 Swimmers
    • 10 Females/10 Males

SWIMMER ELIGIBILITY

  • Swimmers Year of Birth 2008-2012
  • Swimmers must be fully registered with with an ACTIVE status in the REMS system
  • Swimmers must be eligible to represent Canada internationally
  • Swimmers must meet Age of Eligibility listed above to be considered
  • Swimmers must meet the qualifying standard for the competition
  • Must be training full time with a Swim Ontario affiliated program or the High Performance Centre Ontario (HPCO)

SELECTION PRIORITIES

  • The highest ranked swimmers who meet the named eligibility criteria in the following event categories at the Ontario Junior International will be deemed eligible for selection;
    • 50/100 Freestyle
    • 200/400 Freestyle
    • 800/1500 Freestyle
    • 50/100 Backstroke
    • 200 Backstroke
    • 50/100 Breaststroke
    • 200 Breaststroke
    • 50/100 Butterfly
    • 200 Butterfly
    • 200/400 Individual Medley
  • Swimmers are eligible to be selected for more than one event.
  • If a swimmer is eligible for selection in multiple events they will be named in an event based on their highest FINA points scored
  • In the event of a tie, the highest FINA points score will be used to determine the selected swimmer.
  • The next highest ranked swimmer in each pool will remain eligible for selection should an event pool remain open.
  • Swim Ontario also reserves the right to not select a full complement of swimmers or add swimmers who demonstrate performance proficiency over all of the selection events

PARTICIPANT EXPECTATIONS

  • Selected swimmers must attend and participate in all activities related to these training opportunities
  • Swimmer must be in good health and injury free to participate.
  • Selected swimmers must be in full training with their home club program

TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION

  • Travel and Accommodation for all attending swimmers and coaches will be coordinated by the Swim Ontario Provincial Teams Coordinator.
  • Swimmers and Coaches are responsible for their travel to and from Toronto or designated point of departure.

In the event of unforeseen or unusual circumstances, Swim Ontario Technical Staff, under the direction of the CEO, has the full discretion to resolve the matter as it sees fit, taking into account factors and circumstances that it deems relevant.

The Swim Ontario technical staff reserves the right to make changes to this document at its discretion. Any changes to this document shall be communicated directly to all eligible participants through their Coach of Record and published on the Swim Ontario website.
