SWIMMER FEE: $1200.00
TEAM SIZE:
- Up to 16 Olympic Stream Swimmers regardless of gender
- OUA Varsity-Open Swimmers: Up to 8 swimmers
- Competitive Open and Competitive Development Registered Swimmers Year of Birth 2007: Up to 12 Swimmers
- Swim Ontario reserves the right to select additional swimmers to the Age Group contingent should the eight (8) spaces are not filled in the OUA contingent.
SWIMMER ELIGIBILITY:
- Must be eligible to compete for Canada
- Must be training full time with a Swim Ontario affiliated program or the High Performance Centre Ontario (HPCO)
OUA Varsity Open Swimmers:
- Must be currently registered with an Ontario University Association (OUA) Ontario based University with Swimming Canada in the Varsity-Open category.
- Swimmers registered in the Varsity Open Category are not eligible for selection in the Competitive Open and Competitive Development categories.
- Must be committed to year round training and racing.
Competitive Open/Competitive Development Swimmers:
- Must be currently registered in the Competitive Open or in Competitive Development category and in good standing with a Swim Ontario member club.
- Swimmers registered in the Competitive Open Category are not eligible for selection in the Varsity Open category.
- Must be qualified for and are in preparation for the 2025 Canadian Swimming Trials.
PERFORMANCE WINDOW: January 1, 2024- September 30, 2024
PERFORMANCE ELIGIBILITY:
- Considered swimmers must have achieved a minimum of one (1) Swim Ontario Euromeet Consideration Times (see below) in Olympic events based on results from the 2024 Euromeet.
- All considered performances must come from the defined performance window.
OUA Varsity Open Swimmers
- Swimmers must have competed in at least two (2) of the following competitions.
- 2024 U-Sport Championships (February 2024)
- 2024 Canadian Swimming Trials (May 2024)
- 2024 Summer Ontario Swimming Championships (July 2024)
- 2024 Canadian Swimming Championships (July/August 2024)
- 2024 Junior Pan Pacific Championships (August 2024))
- One competition must have taken place in the summer.
Competitive Open or Competitive Development Swimmers:
- Swimmers must have competed at least two (2) of the following competitions.
- 2024 Ontario Winter Swimming Championships (March 2024)
- 2024 Canadian Swimming Trials (May 2024)
- 2024 Ontario Summer Swimming Championships (July 2024)
- 2024 Canadian Swimming Championships (July/August 2024)
- 2024 Junior Pan Pacific Championships (August 2024)
SELECTION CRITERIA
OUA Selection
- Eligible OUA swimmers who achieve the one (1) of the Euromeet consideration times will be ranked according to their highest individual World Aquatics points score
- The four (4) highest ranked swimmers per gender meeting the criteria will be deemed eligible for selection.
Age Group Selection
Priority 1:
- Eligible Competitive Open or Competitive Development swimmers who have achieved at least one (1) of the Euromeet Consideration times
- Swimmers who have achieved at least one of the consideration times will be ranked using the World Class On-Track Times.
Priority 2
- Swimmers who have achieved a “Track 1” performance but have not achieved a consideration time will also be considered for selection.
- Swim Ontario reserves the right to select swimmers outside of the selection criteria to the tour based on selection, participation and performance at 2024 provincial programming camps.
TIE BREAKER
- In the event of a tie, swimmers will be ranked based on World Aquatics points.
- Swimmers with the highest World Aquatics points score will be deemed eligible for selection.
- In the event of an additional tie, the swimmer with the second highest ranked event based on World Aquatics points will be selected.
Swim Ontario Euromeet Consideration LC Times
Travel and Accommodation:
- Travel and Accommodation for the tour will be coordinated by the Team Manager.
- Any costs associated with Pre and Post Tour travel and accommodation are the responsibility of the attending swimmers and coaches.
Amendments and Unforeseen Circumstances:
- In the event of unforeseen or unusual circumstances, Swim Ontario Performance Staff under the direction of the CEO has the full discretion to resolve the matter as it sees fit, taking into account factors and circumstances that it deems relevant.
Changes to this Document:
- The Swim Ontario performance staff reserves the right to make changes to this document at its discretion.
- Any changes to this document shall be communicated directly to all eligible participants through their Coach of Record and published on the Swim Ontario website.
