THIS PROGRAM OPPORTUNITY IS MADE POSSIBLE BY SWIM ONTARIO THROUGH THE OHPSI PROGRAM FUNDED BY THE MINISTRY OF TOURISM, CULTURE AND SPORT OF THE GOVERNMENT OF ONTARIO AND FUNDING PROVIDED THROUGH THE QUEST FOR GOLD PROGRAM.

RATIONALE: To provide collaborative training opportunities for swimmers focused on distance based freestyle events as part of the Swim Ontario Domestic Podium Development project.

COST $175.00/CAMP

SWIMMER ELIGIBILITY

  • Females: Y.O.B 2009 or Younger
  • Males: Y.O.B 2008 or Younger
  • Must be fully registered with Swimming Canada/Swim Ontario
  • Swimmers must participate in all “In-Person” training opportunity

IN-PERSON TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

  • Stage 2:
    • The original 16 swimmers from “Stage 1” will be invited back and an additional 4 (2 per gender) will be added based on defined criteria.
  • Swim Ontario reserves the right not to select a full complement of swimmers at any stage.

PERFORMANCE WINDOWS

  • Stage 2: September 1-December 31, 2023 (SCM Events Only)

PERFORMANCE ELIGIBILITY:

  • Stage 2: Only SCM performances in defined events during the stated performance window are eligible
  • Performances must appear in the Swimming Canada RTR or on swimrankings.net in order to be eligible.
  • Performances not appearing on the RTR or outside of the performance window will not be considered.

SELECTION PRIORITIES:

  1. Performances in the 400m Individual Medley in the designated age category appearing on the Swimming Canada event rankings.
  2. Performances in the 200m Individual Medley in the designated age category appearing on the Swimming Canada event rankings.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Stage 2:

  1. The sixteen (16) swimmers from Stage 1
  2. The top two (2) females and top two (2) males based on SCM performances during the identified performance window not already selected will be invited.
  3. Swim Ontario reserves the right not to select a full complement of swimmers.

TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION:

  • Swimmers and Coaches are responsible for their travel to and from the camp.

AMENDMENTS AND UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES:

  • In the event of unforeseen or unusual circumstances Swim Ontario Technical Staff, under the direction of the CEO, has the full discretion to resolve the matter as it sees fit, taking into account factors and circumstances that it deems relevant.

CHANGES TO DOCUMENTS:

  • The Swim Ontario technical staff reserves the right to make changes to this document at its discretion.
  • Any changes to this document shall be communicated directly to all eligible participants through their Coach of Record and published on the Swim Ontario website.
