THIS PROGRAM OPPORTUNITY IS MADE POSSIBLE BY SWIM ONTARIO THROUGH THE OHPSI PROGRAM FUNDED BY THE MINISTRY OF TOURISM, CULTURE AND SPORT OF THE GOVERNMENT OF ONTARIO AND FUNDING PROVIDED THROUGH THE QUEST FOR GOLD PROGRAM.
RATIONALE: To provide collaborative training opportunities for swimmers focused on distance based freestyle events as part of the Swim Ontario Domestic Podium Development project.

COST: $300.00/CAMP
SWIMMER ELIGIBILITY
- Swimmers aged 17 years old and younger as of December 31, 2023
- Must be fully registered with Swimming Canada/Swim Ontario
- Swimmers must participate in all “In-Person” training opportunity
- Swimmers selected to the 2023 Pan Am Games Team will not be eligible for Camp 1
IN-PERSON TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
- Stage 1:
- Sixteen (16) swimmers based on the defined selection criteria
- Swim Ontario reserves the right not to select a full complement of swimmers at any stage.
PERFORMANCE WINDOWS
- Stage 1: January 1-August 31, 2023 (LCM Events Only)
PERFORMANCE ELIGIBILITY:
- Stage 1: Only LCM performances in defined events during the stated performance window are eligible
- Performances must appear in the Swimming Canada RTR or on swimrankings.net in order to be eligible.
- Performances not appearing on the RTR or outside of the performance window will not be considered.
SELECTION PRIORITIES:
- Performances in the 1500m freestyle in the designated age category appearing on the Swimming Canada event rankings.
- Performances in the 800m freestyle in the designated age category appearing on the Swimming Canada event rankings.
SELECTION PROCESS:
Stage 1:
- The top eight (8) females and top eight (8) males based on the defined selection priorities will be eligible for the selection
- An additional 4 swimmers will be identified as alternates following the defined selection priorities and will become eligible for selection should a space become available.
- Swim Ontario reserves the right not to select a full complement of swimmers.
TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION:
- Accommodation for the all attending swimmers and coaches will be coordinated by the Swim Ontario Provincial Teams Coordinator
- Accommodation plans for those swimmers and coaches attending from outside of the GTA will be coordinated by the Swim Ontario Provincial Teams Coordinator.
- Swimmers and Coaches are responsible for their travel to and from the camp.
AMENDMENTS AND UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES:
- In the event of unforeseen or unusual circumstances Swim Ontario Technical Staff, under the direction of the CEO, has the full discretion to resolve the matter as it sees fit, taking into account factors and circumstances that it deems relevant.
CHANGES TO DOCUMENTS:
- The Swim Ontario technical staff reserves the right to make changes to this document at its discretion.
- Any changes to this document shall be communicated directly to all eligible participants through their Coach of Record and published on the Swim Ontario website.
