400M and Up Training Initiative 2

THIS PROGRAM OPPORTUNITY IS MADE POSSIBLE BY SWIM ONTARIO THROUGH THE OHPSI PROGRAM FUNDED BY THE MINISTRY OF TOURISM, CULTURE AND SPORT OF THE GOVERNMENT OF ONTARIO AND FUNDING PROVIDED THROUGH THE QUEST FOR GOLD PROGRAM.

RATIONALE

To provide collaborative training opportunities for swimmers focused of freestyle events 400m and above as part of the Swim Ontario Domestic Podium Development project.

Camp Size: 20 Swimmers

• Swimmers who participated in Stage 1 of this initiative will receive automatic invitation to participate in Stage 2
• Additional swimmers will be identified based on selection priorities listed below until the 20 swimmers
• Home coaches are encouraged to attend

Swimmer Eligibility:

Females: Year of Birth 2006 or Younger

Males: Year of Birth 2005 or Younger

Swimmer Fee:

$200.00

• Those swimmers who attended the February sessions will not have to pay for this camp.

Performance Window:

January 1, 2023-April 4, 2023

Performance Eligibility:

1. Only LCM results in defined events during the stated performance window are eligible
2. Considered performances must appear on the Swimming Canada RTR or Swimrankings.net
3. Performances not appearing on the RTR or outside of the performance window will not be considered.

Selection Priorities:

1. Top 2 400m Swimmers appearing in the Swimming Canada event rankings
2. Top 2 800M swimmers appearing on the Swimming Canada event rankings not already identified
3. Top 2 1500m swimmers appearing on the Swimming Canada event rankings not already identified
