Para Provincial Camp

Age of Eligibility:

• Athletes must be at least 12 years of age (Y.O.B 2009 or older)

• Maximum of 30 swimmers
• Swim Ontario reserves the right to not select a full complement of swimmers for this camp

Swimmer Eligibility:

• Swimmers must be fully registered for Swimming Canada/Swim Ontario
• Swimmers must meet Age of Eligibility listed above to be considered.
• All participants must meet the Swim Ontario COVID-19 Provincial Team and Event Activity Vaccination Policy and Procedure
• Individuals are required to provide either their Proof of Vaccination or a Letter of Accommodation from the facility.
• All participants must meet all facility entry and Covid safety requirements.
• Performance Window: September 1, 2019 to April 11, 2022

Performance Eligibility

• Swim Ontario will only consider results in Paralympic Events from all sanctioned competitions (SC & LC) within the Eligible Performance Window.
• Only results that appear on the Swimming Canada RTR will be considered.
• It is individually clubs or athletes responsibility to ensure that results are uploaded to the Swimming Canada RTR
• Athletes will be ranked according to their highest performance points achieved in a single Paralympic event

Selection Criteria:

• At minimum, athletes must have a Level 1 classification and be in the process of obtaining a Level 2 classification.
• Priority will be given to athletes who have achieved at least 1 Para Provincial Standard for their current Sport Class within the Performance Window.

Camp Selection Timelines:

• The 30 highest ranked para swimmers using the selection criteria above will be notified of their eligibility to attend the camp through their Coach of Record on April 18, 2022
• Swimmers must confirm their attendance using the Swimmer Registration link by Wednesday April 27, 2022, at 5:00pm.
• The final list of confirmed swimmers will be circulated to Coaches of Record on Friday April 29, 2022.
• Swim Ontario reserves the right to not select a full complement of swimmers for this camp

Travel and Accommodation:

• ALL travel and accommodation including any cost associated with attending the camp is the responsibility of the swimmer.

Amendments and Unforeseen Circumstances:

• In the event of unforeseen or unusual circumstances, Swim Ontario Performance Staff under the direction of the CEO has the full discretion to resolve the matter as it sees fit, taking into account factors and circumstances that it deems relevant.

Changes to this Document:

• The Swim Ontario performance staff reserves the right to make changes to this document at its discretion.
• Any changes to this document shall be communicated directly to all eligible participants through their Coach of Record and published on the Swim Ontario website.
