Canadian Swimming Championships, July 24 to July 29, 2024 at TPASC and July 30 in Welland

Swim Ontario is seeking help with filling some Local Organizing Committee positions to help with the running of the meet on deck. In particular we are seeking individuals interested in learning both the dry and wet side of the meet manager position at a Swimming Canada event.

The wet side is called field of play or FOP for short. Their role includes supporting the safety marshals during warm-ups, managing the deck during competition such as backstroke ledges support, deck flow management, bells, counters, signage, flags & para swimmer needs, etc. A Level II official with backstroke ledge experience is an ideal candidate. The dry side includes meet office duties (results distribution, setting up rooms for briefings, photocopying and organizing programs for various groups, officials check-in, supporting the admin desk personnel, etc).

• World Aquatics List Application Process. Submission by July 1. Contact Jocelyn Jay with any questions. Application HERE
• Officials Funding Support For 2024 Speedo Canadian Swimming Championships (CSC) at TPASC & Welland
  • Deadline is June 30, 2024. No late applications will be accepted.
  • Officials can apply for funding by filling out the application form: OFFICIALS FUNDING FORM
  • This funding is different from the Swim Ontario Funding for Level V attending National meets. If receiving Swimming Canada funding this needs to be declared to Swim Ontario for those that have been approved for funding for National meets.
  • The Swimming Canada funding also applies to Level IV. We encourage all Level IV attending CSC to apply. Please see all details in the bulletin as restrictions apply.
  • If you wish to apply for Swimming Canada funding you must first submit your availability in attending CSC using link - https://form.jotform.com/241146550080245
• Level 1&2 and 3 Open Water Clinics are being offered at CSC on July 27 & 28. The clinics are listed on the LMS under “All Provinces”. The Level 3 Clinic will be offered by invitation only.

• National Officials Attire Policy
  • Applies to all Swimming Canada National Meets
  • Clubs can continue with their current dress code for their hosted meets knowing that exceptions do apply as officials are re-assigned positions.
• National Officials Travel Program
  • This program aims to issue tax receipts to Level IV and V officials who annually contribute to Swimming Canada through their travel expenses incurred during competitions.
