Scenario

With the implementation of the new Certification Pathway, there is an increased importance of the Stroke Judge (SJ) position.

Question

How should COCs and Evaluators support their officials to meet the SJ requirements?

Recommendations

For any official moving to or requesting an evaluation for level 4 or 5, the referee evaluation committee will manage and communicate this directly with the candidate.

For any official moving to a level 3, who has worked the position in the past, it is appropriate for the position signoff to be backdated if proof can be provided via the official's deck log or the officials grid from previous meet(s). If any of these documents cannot be provided, it is recommended that the official work the SJ position at their earliest convenience.

For any official moving to level 2, the official must meet the requirement of the new pathway, work the SJ position and get a successful sign off.

It is recommended that officials to keep a log of their meets and signoffs.
